I seem to be good at finding like-minded people from AI. Even like urself, I stumbled across your page and you started Art Institute AFTER I left for the tour. I think I can be a pretty good recruiter!
lol i had stalkers on myspace too believe it or not...turned into an actual FBI investigation. I wanted to start an Art Institute of LV club here on DA as a way of keeping friends together and showcasing our artwork. Dunno if it'll be successful tho really.
crazy...i had fun in high skool just like i have fun here. I much rather be here than on myspace, even tho i have a myspace page. I find DA to be more positive for me cuz i can LEARN from people. Sure, its cliquey, but what isnt? U just form your own clique and friends. Speakin of which, i'm thinking of forming an AI club... wut do u think?
Yeah I've been seeing a few people dropping like flies over the supposed "drama" bullshit. Really, it's the internet. Let it go. Some of them mention its like "highschool" on here, but they're not making it much better with what theyre doing
lol DA dramas...gotta luv em! one of my fave DA artist has them and pretty much QUIT art! that's just crazy. i think they have breakdowns due to not being able to handle sudden popularity. anyways, thanx cuz i think i found it...pretty kool tut.
Heyyy yeah I myself don't use the smudge tool too much anymore. I just lower the opacity on my brush and use the eyedropper tool to slowly blend two colors together by overlapping them to see what they make when they mix. I had an awesome tutorial I learned it from... but I think the deviant who had it bitched out and keeps having little "DA dramas". It was cypherx I believe, and if she still had it her skin tutorial kinda touches on that method. I can't make brushes either :[
Hey Alex...maybe when i get back to Vegas, we can hook up and swap brains! I'm stuck with digital painting at the moment, as all my paint is still out there! I'm not understanding how to blend well on the comp...the smudge tool looks awful to me and i'm not well versed with making brushes. I love watercolor and i'm tryin to find that look, but just digital. I can teach u traditional if u like. I have a wacom intuos 3 and lots of pen tips, but no clue how to change them, as i still use my mouse. I would love your help sensei!
Haha I'm a little bit of the opposite, I feel a lot more comfortable with digital than traditional at this point. Just mostly cause im cheap to buy a thousand paints and lazy to dedicate myself to learning the technique. But I kinda had the same attitude when i got my FIRST tablet in highschool. I couldn't hardly control it, and stuck to the mouse. But really the best thing is practice....did your pen come with different tips? Mine actually did (might depend on the tablet brand though if you did), with different textures to simulate kind of different mediums. Like the "pencil" tip grabs on a little more to the screen so it almost feels like the texture of graphite on paper. It's pretty cool, but I stuck to the plastic tips regardless hah. If you feel more comfortable with traditional art, don't force yourself away from it
very tru. i want to play with a style closer to yours as well, but i hate the way the pen feels on the tablet. its too slippery so i still use a mouse and i'm a better traditional painter than digital one. do u have any tips?
